How to send us an Invoice

Here is a guide to do it:

First, create a free Wave Accounting account.

Part 1: Create your first invoice (paper / printable)

  1. Set up your business profile

  • (Top Right) Click Dropdown → Business settings.

  • Confirm:

    • Business name or Your Name

    • Address

    • Logo (optional but makes invoices look legitimate)

  1. Create a customer

  • Go to Sales → Customers → Add customer.

  • Enter the Freedom City Collective's name and mailing address (important for paper invoices).

  1. Create the invoice

  • Go to Sales → Invoices → Create invoice.

  • Select the customer.

  • Add line items:

    • Description (be specific — vague invoices get delayed)

    • Quantity / rate

    • Set invoice date and due date.

  1. Customize for paper delivery

  • Ensure:

    • Mailing address is visible

    • Payment instructions clearly say how to pay by check (payable to, mailing address)

    • Avoid “online payment only” language if you’re mailing it.

  1. Save and download

Part 2: Record payment later (don’t skip this)

  1. When the check arrives:

  • Go to the invoice.

  • Click Record payment.

  • Choose Cash or Check.

  • Enter deposit date and reference number.

  • Save.
